High School Reunion - everyone's nightmare on TV

TV Land has come out with a couple of shows that no one cares about spanning from She's Got The Look to the upcoming flopper The Cougar. However the other day, I stumbled upon a gem in their original programming lineup - a little show called High School Reunion. This show is both disturbing to someone my age looking forward to a bright future, and hysterical because of the sheer pathetic nature of some of the people on the show - I mean it's like high school for 40-year-olds! What TV Land did here was to take a group of people who went to high school together 20 years agon and put them together in a house like The Real World. All of the people chosen are single and ran in different social circles while in high school together - the popular crew, the wannabes, the nerds, the skaters, the jocks, etc.
Let's start with some of my favorite members of the cast shall we? The winner of my most pathetic award goes to the looker in yellow pictured above. Her name is Jessica and she was considered the unnoticed ugly loser in high school. She comes back to this reunion to show her classmates that she is SOOO beautiful now - my thoughts? She looks disgusting! I mean she was a gross looking little girl, but she definitely looks over plasticized with all of the surgery she DEFINITELY had. She also gets upset that her best friend Maricela gets more attention from the men at the house than she does - why you ask? Because Maricela doesn't look scary like she does. How does she not realize that everyone can see how ugly she is both inside and out?
The most obnoxious award goes to the jock Dennis. He and his friend Manny pictured below were actually part of the class of '87 and decide to crash the class of '88's party. Dennis comes into the house, screws around with peoples' things, and proceeds to get drunk and offend everyone in the class of '88 in his wrath. He even goes as far as to say some racist and sexist comments to the other members of the cast.
Anyway, for those of you who have the time on your hands, watch this show. It will definitely show you, if anything, that high school is not like Vegas...people never leave what happened in high school in high school. Feelings carry over, and as much as we all try to be grown-ups about things when we see each other again, it's never possible to forgive and forget everything. For example, at your 10-year anniversary, will you forgive your best friend for hooking up with your boyfriend Sophomore year? Or will your ex-boyfriend come back and see you and miss you, or will he continue to have hostile feelings for you for dumping him Senior year before leaving for college. I have a feeling that if my high school was chosen for a show like this, it would probably not prove just as interesting, but I'm sure those of you out there will completely identify with the problems being faced in this house of living memories. Happy watching!
